Difference in 30' and 31' ?

Hello, I have located a 31 Excella (2000 model) and just sent a deposit on it and wondered if anyone knows the difference in these two sizes ?

I looked on the spec sheet and it says both are 31 ? What gives ?

It's all in the head . . .

In the "newer" models, the main difference in the 30 vs the 31 is the configuration of the head (aka the bathroom) layout. Don't remember exactly, but think that the 31 has the split bath layout with the shower on the curbside, the spiffy & sink on the streetside. The other (30) has a single room that contains the shower, sink, & spiffy.

We prefer the split bath as it seems to have more room for dressing & stepping out of the shower, better access to the spiffy if another is showering.

In the newer model line the 30 has a shower on the curb side with a toilet across on the street side. You have to walk through the bath area to get to the rear bedroom. The 31 had a combined shower bath room located on the street side of the trailer. Both trailers are the same length which is 31 feet.

It is strange that airstream calls it a 30' but it is a 31'. Actually i have a shelter for mine that is exactly 32' and the trailer touches both ends when the wind blows... lol
