Painting 1984 Excella Walls

What type of paint do I need to paint right over the walls in my Excella 1984 31'?

More info, please! Do they have cupboards attached? What is on there now? We have older vintage and used zolotone. Love it. But probably isn't what you need... are your interior walls you want to paint, wood? plastic? aluminum? You might post a picture or so and let folks know what you want to accomplish, you will get lots of help that way.

In 1984, the interior walls were flexible PVC laminated to aluminum. You need to use a primer what will block the plasticizer migration and adhere to plasticized PVC. The original Kills solvent based primer might be a place to start. A solvent urethane based primer might also work. After you prime the walls, you could use any latex scrubbable egg shell or semi-gloss enamel. I would not reccomend any flat type finish as it will hold dirt and not be as washable.

Speaking as a house painter,Grahams paint out of illinois makes a wonderful flat ceramic paint that would be incredibly washable ! At 45.00-48.00 a gallon it should be !!! Also a primer that is acrylic (such as gripper from glidden ) will work also,but you must let it dry for at least 48 hours.

We just primed the entire interior of our Argosy with Glidden Gripper this weekend. It took two coats to cover the nasty yellowed endcaps, but the walls covered great with one coat - except the bathroom, which took two.

Hi - I am getting to the tail end of a 12 month resto mod on a '69 31' sov - we wanted interior walls to be smooth and durable so we taped off and sprayed two coats of heavy auto primer - finished up with two coats of oil based interior house paint. Very nice end product. Also used auto primaer and paint for all interior trim and end caps.
