1986 Excella 32' arrived in Holland

Finaly , its here !

She beautiful, and finally she is here after its long trip from Jackonville Florida to Holland. We Found her here in the classifieds, and we have no reason to regret our buy. Thank you RemcovanLent for your advice, support and help !
When we picked her up at the port of Zeebrugge in Belgium, 250 miles south of us, we found her parked next to a 34 foot excella 1000 (for a forum member maybe?)

We towed her with an 2002 Chevy Tahoe 5.3, and it performed better then we expected.
We modified the Tahoe with an TRU-COOL transmission Cooler (28,000 GVW)and a break controller that we probably need to read the manual for to understand. Even the fuel milage wasn't bad at all (Holland is flat, i bet it doesn't perform as well in hills) I am sure the trip wouldn't have been as easy without the Reese High Performance Dual Cam Sway, it took some time to install, but it was worth it.

We will have to do some modifications to the A/S to get it tagged with dutch tags, but its good to have her in the yard after this long trip.
She seems in very good condition for het 21 years, both interior and exterior. Our 3 year old son deceided he would give up his room to live in it (it has more windows, dad) so we guess he likes it too.

We will post more pictures as soon as the picture service is "up" again.

I am exporting a 2006 22' CCD to South Korea, I am not sure if your electrical outlet voltage is the same as Korea.

I would like to know:

Did you have anything converted electrical?

Do you use a step down transformer or adapter?

Any help or information would be appreciated.

Very nice! All your effort has paid off.
Now - Where do you intend to go first?? Which leads to another question, what kind of camping opportunities do you have in the Netherlands? Do you plan on any longer trips into other parts of Europe? Just curious.
Congratulations on the new A/S.

Europe - It's another world!

Axel (GREAT name!!!) and family -

Congrats on the terrific looking trailer!!! Enjoy!

Just be sure to PLAN any and all trips ANYWHERE!!! Getting gas can be tough there. Nice Tahoe BTW!!! Bet you are a 'one of a kind' in your area!?

Lived for 3 years in Vienna Austria and drove a Suburban while there - 4 in country and the embassy had 2. The gas station owners LOVED to see me coming - 100+ liters. And the islands are small. All really are set up for SMARTcars and Fiats and the like. I could easily see having to unhook the AS simply to get fuel - and they where do you leave it?? The streets are simply not set up for really large vehicles. Don't get me wrong, it can be done, just requires planning. Something I am VERY good at, sometimes, other times, not so much.

Your son will grow to LOVE camping in that super cool AirStream. I take mine all the time, Maximus 5y/o, in fact he named our trailer "SilverToy".

All the best!! and keep posting photos.

Axel

we use 220 volt here, i have a have no idea what they use in South Korea.
I had to use a big transformer to get our 220 volt to 110 , you can get those on ebay , if you need the link, message me.

good luck !

Axel

i think we will stay near home for a while , since we will probably forget everything on the first few trips, and the trailer is very very big for european standards, so we probably have to research if they can handle our trailer length before we go anywhere. we will eventually try to go sweden norway and finland.
