Cheryl,
I recommend you keep the service manual and get an owners manual as well, the owners manual provides basic information to operate your AS and the service manual goes into more detail on troubleshooting, diagrams, systems, etc. They work well when used together. You can get an owners manual from Secretarial Services listed in the Vendor forum, if your looking for an original they occassionaly come up on ebay (keyword Airstream).
I was lucky, got them both with my '78 Excella. I'm finding them pretty handy. I could look up something for you until you get one from the other sites. Did you keep the vacuum brakes or go with an electric brake actuator?

I'm looking for a copy of an owners manual and service manual for my 83 28' Excella 280 Motorhome. Can anyone help me out. I contacted the secretarial services and they have the owners manual for 75.00. I'd like to put that money into the coach and find a cheaper or free manual.
I would be fusterpated if anyone wanted to swap a 72 Service Manual for my 74 Service Manual (I actually need 1971 info but I understand 72 was the first year for service manuals)
