Salvage title

I am looking at a 1982 Excella. The owner is asking $9700. The coach is in excellent condition with almost no issues and nothing at all serious wrong with it, except . . . it the owner put a football sized dent in the left rear corner. He called his insurance company and then had it repaired. The repair is less than perfect but still not bad and not much bigger than my hand. However, the owner's insurance company totaled it and issued a salvage title. He just received the title yesterday.

My questions are these: How does this affect the value? Does anyone know if a salvage title can be un-done? Some evidence on the Internet indicates that this may be possible but every state is different, I'm sure (how about Washington?). My insurance company will insure it without a problem but how about resale value when I go to sell it? It is an above average coach with no serious issues. Everything works. It has five awnings and lots of options. What is it worth and what else should I consider?

If the trailer were perfect, and had a salvage title, I'd expect to pay less than market price for a trailer with a good title. After all, you are questioning it, and so would any other buyer.

In my opinion, if you are buying to use for a few years and can put up with the title issues now it is a great deal. Key word is "use". If everything is in excellent condition or above average you will come out ahead.
If you are buying to resell quickly for a profit, probably not such a good deal.
Good luck either way,

You will have problems insuring it & selling it later. Personally, I think 9700 plus tax is to much for a salvage titled 82 Excella.
"If it can't be reduced, reused, repaired, rebuilt, refurbished, refinished, resold, recycled or composted
then it should be restricted, redesigned or removed from production."

Click on the link to see a picture of the Sioux River falls near my home.
Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.
