I also did some polishing this weekend. Well friday night and saturday. I ended up buying some harbor freight polishers and they worked fine for $40 and $50 each. I had a friend helping so thats why I got two.
I just used the G6 which starts medium coarse and goes to a medium fine I think. Well either way it gets finer as you polish. I wasn't going for the mirrior finish, and I didn't get it. I did get rid of all the oxidation and marks. The scratches are still there and some are deep
From a distance it looks great but up close you can see some swirl marks and other blemishes.
The two ends didn't come up as shiny as they were weathered more than the rest. There are also a lot of chip marks in the front panels.
Maybe next year I will polish it some more, but with my time limited right now I get what I get. Either way it looks a ton better.
