I want to try to get a zipdee awning and hardware that would maintain the original integrity of the trailer. They weren't much help. Called another place on the west coast of Florida and they told me they don't deal with "airstreams my age". Where would be the best resource for an awning and its installation? Any recommendations?

Try Vanland RV in Fort Myers. (239)-995-6000. A smaller place than Walt's, but a lot shorter drive. Also, you can get a new awning direct from Zip-Dee if you don't mind paying for the honor. You can also get awnings for all you windows, not just the main one on the curbside. IIRC,a 29 foot Airstream should have a 19' awning. BTW, they DO deal with Airstreams at least 1972 and up,as that is what I have.
