1969 Ambassador 29'

I am so excited because I just brought home my first vintage airstream. Seems like its nearly all original and after having all the systems professionally checked out I feel great that everything works. I spent the day trying to remove wallpaper that someone put up over the beautiful California Redwood. Now I have to remove the sticky glue and it will look great.

I will post photos as soon as I can. I was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction with a question I have about awnings. It looks like my trailer once had an awning and no longer does. I live by a local airstream dealer registered on airstreams web site but when I called the parts depatment today in Riviera Beach, Florida they told me they were being locked out of the building and possibly closing up. I want to try to get a zipdee awning and hardware that would maintain the original integrity of the trailer. They weren't much help. Called another place on the west coast of Florida and they told me they don't deal with "airstreams my age". Where would be the best resource for an awning and its installation? Any recommendations?

Try Vanland RV in Fort Myers. (239)-995-6000. A smaller place than Walt's, but a lot shorter drive. Also, you can get a new awning direct from Zip-Dee if you don't mind paying for the honor. You can also get awnings for all you windows, not just the main one on the curbside. IIRC,a 29 foot Airstream should have a 19' awning. BTW, they DO deal with Airstreams at least 1972 and up,as that is what I have.
