Weights

Hi again.

does anyone have the gvwr and dry weight for the '76 Land Yacht Ambassador. 29' ?
Doesn't have to be exact but close enough for transferring a title without the weights noted.

thanks in Advance

Have you seen this on Airstream.com? I believe it will answer your questions regarding the weights ~

Thanks Shari.

that gave me the dry weight. the gvwr should be on the camper right? Problem is the camper is 130 miles from my house. Ohio title does not state the weight for some reason.

The GVWR can be a bit difficult to find for some of the Vintage coaches -- my '64 Overlander International didn't have a placquard on the coach, nor did the owners' manual list the information. When I contacted Airstream, (this was in 1995) they weren't able to give me the GVWR. I ended up estimating the GVWR by adding 1,600 pounds to the empty weight when registering the vehicle.

I suspect that by the time your coach was produced that the information was probably required to be posted on a placquard attached to the coach, and may very well have been found in the owners' manual as well (I know that by '78 the information was posted on a placquard on the front of my Minuet and was also contained in the owners' manual). If someone with a similar coach doesn't answer your question by Monday morning, you may want to contact Airstream Technical Support for a dfinitive answer. You can find the contact information for Airstream Technical Support at:

Good luck with your coach!

Kevin

Peg,
According to my 1975 Owner's manual the GVWR for all 29' and 31' Airstreams regardless of configuration is 7100# . Depending on configuration the dry weights range from 4765#-4855# plus options Tongue Weights range from 485#-650#. If you will post a more detailed description of your unit; twin, double, center bath, rear bath and a list of options...AC, jacks, vista views etc. I can give you a better set of numbers. These are based on the 1975 manual but there were not too many changes between 1975-76 model years.

Weight of '76 LY

Hello and thanks.

This unit has the rear double bed, electric hitch, roof ac. I'm sure the plate has the weight but the trailer is over 200 miles from my house, therefore Im in a dmv dilema. Thanks for your help.

Hi Peggy,
Now I am over 200 miles from my manual But I will get you the actual number when I get home this weekend. But for the DMV IIRC they want the gross weight and that is 7100#. If you need a net weight just shoot down the middle.

Weights Found

Aaron,

That's ok, I got the title work completed yesterday. I used 7100 gvwr. I think that should be ok.

Thanks for helping out.
