i have a 27' airstream. i am new owner of airstream and longtime fan. is my airstream a overlander w/ the international package or are they different all together? it has the sky view windows and international badging w/ all kinds of extras on itsuch as alum. wheels, turn indicator, tv antennna and bal jacks. the only things i can figure out it doesn't have is the onan gen. and the anti sway (good).
i believe this is just a trim level but not sure. a little breakdown on say a model year might help out.
Unfortuantely, the VIN ID info floating around out there on the web says "O" (oh) means Overlander (a length) when in actuality it is "0" (zero) and it is just a placeholder for when "I" (eye, not one) for International (which is a trim & accessory package) is not used.
Totally confused? We've all been there...post your VIN and we'll sort it out.

thanx for the replies. i thought i was on the right track! my vin # is: I27t5j3060. i would guess i have a 27' overlander international? is there a listing of the options as in a sales brochure? i have the owners manual which is helpful but isn't complete. i found mine has a blinker/brake indicator on driver side which notifies you if brakes/blinkers are on when you look in rearview mirrror. this was an option but not mentioned in the owners manual. i guess i'm just tyrying to get all the info. i can. just like a courtesy 12v lite were the univolt is, havent' seen that in owners manual or the service manual. i am getting into every nook and cranny of this thing and will have it all operating.
Sounds like yours has many of the same options as my '73. Here's the VIN thing:
I=International Trim package
27=Length of trailer in feet (Overlander)
T=Twin bed, rear bath
5=Year (1975 model)
J=Built in JAckson Center, Ohio plant
3060=Sequential serial number
Those little side "blinker/marker" lights are actually fed by fiber optic cables that run to the rear light clusters. Be careful poking around in the rear of the trailer. The fiber is run inside the walls, but the mounts are in the back of the light housing and can be pushed out or jarred to one side. Good luck with it.

wow, fiber optics! even in 75. i would never have guessed, i will definetly be careful w/ my rear tail lites. that is a great piece of info. eventually will go to led's. eventually.

As I mentioned before I have that Exact trailer.
One other thing that I'm sure you will wonder about is on the street side towards the rear is a small round light. It is an indicator light that lights up if you have the shore power polarity backwards.
If you Never see it come on that is a good thing. I tried plugging mine in backwards (ie switched the hot and neutral) and sure enough it lit up.
Did yours come with the Television installed to the right of the sink?
Mine had it from the factory but some PO removed it. Makes for a great place to keep the Microwave and coffee maker as there is an outlet right there.
i think we do have the same camper. mine came w/ the oven were you're talkin'. the door on it needs some work but it fires up. i think i'm going to have to get a plasma screen tv for sporting events. i'm missing the stereo it came w/ but all the wiring seems to be there and i have an alpine system from a previous vehicle that should be a nice upgrade.
