buying a parts trailer

I'm looking at buying a '75 sovereign as a parts camper for a '69 overlander. I'm very new to this and am wondering if many if any parts are exchangeable. I particularly want the wheels off the 75, but am very interested in wether the large house side? (the side with out the door)window glass will exchange?

Buying a later and different model for parts can be a good plan, but beware there are differences between Calif and Ohio built trailers and significant differences between generations.. Some more experienced Vintage restorers might weigh in, but it helps to post pictures so folks can see exactly how they look. Many of the windows were similar but different, though the wheels ought to be pretty close to equal... You might be able to measure bolt circle diameter, to see if there are differences. Should all be 15" and zero offset...

I'm not sure what URL's ther are besides www.airstream.net , but if you search here for vintage and site and club, you should get some links to technical pages at vintage club site, which has more technical history of California produced trailers and Ohio trailers...

The 1969 trailers were unique in many ways. It was the first year for a body change and there were canges made for the next few years. The front corner windows were only used that year then changed to rounded corners. Not sure about other windows, but I would suspect you will find them different. The best parts trailer for a 69 is another 69. There is a 31' down the road from me that is only good for parts but too exensive at $3000.

The hinges on the 69 windows are very different than 1970 and up.

But you can take the hinge off of a 69 window, and install it on a later year window.

A little extra work, but it gets the job done.

The wing windows however, are different.
