Mick,

Click on Overlander in my previous post. Scroll down and you'll find construction photos of the dinette.

We also built-in a dinette. Ours isn't a "U", but could easily be if we had more room!

Dinette

U shaped dinnette for 76 sovereign

We really wanted a dinette for our sovereign and also want to be able to use it as a bed. To get enough length for the bed without obstructing the door the bed has to go sideways but there is enough space to get a queen size mattress in there.

The lack of any right angles was really driving me crazy trying to figure out the dimensions but I finally figured that the best way to get the whole thing parallel is to be sure that the space for the table is centered and even. In my case the table is 39" and the rest of the space is taken up by the benches.

The pictures make it make more sense. (see attachments)

Once I had the flat parts made I traced out templates to have the cushions made out of foam and upholstered- they should be done in a couple of weeks.

This also makes for some great storage underneath!

That is exactly what we did, to the point of putting the table top on the floor, centring it, tracing around it with a pencil, and using that as a template for a frame.

Kind of overbuilt it, and wrapped the one end around the table so it's supported partially on the fourth side.

Here's my thread:
