Rewire with Copper

I wonder if anyone has tried to rewire with copper wire. I've taken down all my lights and about half wear severly coroded. I am planing on checking all the circiut with a circiut tester and then trying to pill the aluminum wire out after atatching a copper wire to it. Just Hoping someone had done that already. Mac

I may be the bearer of bad news. Only from my experience with the '87, I don't think you will be able to fish the wires.

Lots of tight bends through ungrommeted small holes, plus, my wire bundles were tie wrapped at various points.

You may want to do a search on "rebuild" or "interior gutted" with the year added close to your trailer. Several forum members have removed interior walls and have documented the pictures for the benefit of the forum members.

A picture is worth a thousand words when it comes to understanding the interior construction and wiring of these units.

wire

I have aluminum wiring in my 67 Tradewind and am following the procedure for splicing in copper pigtails to the aluminum wire and coating with dielectic goop. There's several websites that detail the procedure. Do if for the lights and outlets.

Thank You both for your prompt replys. I will do the same with the gray goop and the copper. I do have plenty of aluminum to atatch to. Much easier in the long run even though it goes against my grain. Cheers Mac
