Windows won't stay open

The large road-side windows on our 2015 Flying Cloud won't remain open when the control is in its lowest position. The windows close back down to the window gasket with the controllers still in the lowest notch. Is there an adjustment that can be made? It would be nice to have the windows barely open for ventilation, but they don't remain open. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I think it is common. With any breeze mine also will shut. Just not enough of an angle on the window opening bars.

I am also having this problem with one window. The others will stay open in the lowest position. I inspected things closely. The rods and hinges do not appear to be bent and the plastic notch pieces are not cracked.

I had a 2013 25' FC with the same problem. Here is the thread I started on it.

Airstream Forums > Airstream Community Forums > On The Road... Ventilation

I now have a 2008 30 Classic and the detents are definitely different. No problems with these windows.

I ended up rolling a little duck tape strip and filling the lower hole a bit. Seems to work for now.

Thanks,

Jason

If you just want a bit of ventilation open the window a bit and turn the latch to the upright position and the window will rest on it and leave about an inch gap.

We had this problem on our 2013 25FB. We took it to the factory service center and they "fixed" it, but not completely. I think they removed the plastic bracket (with the three notches) and moved it up a little.

I like the duct tape idea.

Same issue on the rear window (escape window also) of our 2014 31' Classic. Not enough angle on the support arms.

Same problem here. 2015 FC. Sounds like there is no easy fix.

There really is an easy fix, and anybody can do it.

Simply open the window, and turn the latches to the "closed" position. That will hold the window open.

We are having the same issue with our 27’ FB FC. I’m going to try the duck tape suggestion.

This seems to be what makes the most sense.
