What kind of lock do I have?

I need to find a new lock cylinder for my 1968 Caravel but i don't know the type of lock I have. How can I tell?

1968 will probably be an L100 special.

A picture of the assembly in the door would help. Is the handle vertical or horizontal.
I am thinking L66 by Bargman

A photo of your lock set would probably help. Sometimes a PO will change out the lock assembly with a different set. (Sometimes even a household type lock set.) Our '68 Overlander has it's original Bargman L100 with a long shank. The "vault doors" used in and around that time had the lock set moved inward a bit. Our trailer is documented here: https://www.airforums.com/forums/f39...er-155180.html and there are a couple of photos on entry 21 showing some of the mechanism and the long shank. When you take it apart, you might want to photograph the disassembly and do it where parts can't get away from you. That will give you a guide (and hopefully all the pieces) when it goes back together.

Here are some pictures of Bargman L100/L200 locks. The only difference in these two are the inside handles. L100 gas a round inside handle and L200 has a lever for inside.

I'll post a picture. The inside handle broke before i purchased the airstream. These pictures i took when i was cleaning the lock. I dont have an exterior picture yet. I'll go take a picture of the outside.

This a Chesler. You can replace a Bargman L100 or L200 in the rough opening you currently have. I ah e a few parts for that lock if you need them. I also have plenty of the Bargman locks new and used. I will be glad to help you.

I've been pretty impressed with the sophistication of these vintage lock sets. Seems like a lot of thought and engineering went into them and they have generally held up well over the decades.

I just need keys made.
I see all these posts about the locks and maybe theirs are broken.

I have a knob on the outside and the inside is a lever handle.

Things are never simple.
But can it be as simple to just take the whole thing off and go to a locksmith with my new bargman keys I got from VTS?

After contacting a local locksmith. I located a MASTER key the fit my 68 Lock. See the key photos

Last week, I bought a spare key from VTS after showing them a photo.

When I first got to the locksmith he said the blank for the L200 I was sold was not the right key. $1.34 and time wasted.

While there I called Inland RV for advice. It was to spend $229 on a kit.

The locksmith told me not to give up and he would call me the next day,
He called with the news of a blank and made me a new one.
