Rear Rockguard?

At out of doors mart, I have already settled on getting the front rockguard for my 69 globetrotter, but what about the rear? Does it have a rock guard set anywhere online? I can't seem to find one.

THanks,
-Sean

I'm not aware of any being commercially available. The intent of a rockguard is to provide protection to the glass area during the course of travel, and shading while camped. So having one for the frontal windows is important.

I believe your front wing windows have the double square corners that are virtually extinct so you should definitely protect them.

I have seen some owner's with homemade ones used on rear windows but most people use a window awning for that purpose. Plus the rear window is often times your "Escape Window" so having it covered by a rockguard could be a problem in case of an emergency.

Regards,

Kevin

Using a front rockguard, that covers 3 windows, for a single rear window, is a waste of money.

You can, however, use for the rear window, the same rockguard that is used for the single front window models, such as 68 and older.

Plus, it's cheaper, costs less to ship, and is easier to install.

Instead of being 80 inches wide, the single window version, is only 47 inches wide.

I'm pretty good at backing up but would probably jackknife before reaching a speed at which I'd need a rear rockguard for the panoramic windows on the back of my SE Safari.

The metal shields for the lower front corners are called segment protectors. I don't think you'd need those on the rear either.

Hi, a rear rock guard might come in handy if you have rock throwing kids or kids with BB guns and the rear of your trailer is exposed. O.P. might have a similar reason for wanting one.
