not THAT Bargman L-100... ('67 main door)

Hi all...

Earlier this year, I got a '67 Overlander, door suicide victim.

I was able to find a salvage main door that was compatible. It was the right shape and fit, and came with its own main hinge. The original '67 hinge was attached with 6 rivets, the salvage hinge had 4 screws set in the hinge casting. Locating it right over the existing hinge outline worked, though.

Great, I have a hung door, on to the handle and lock. I went out on eBay and got a Bargman L-100 lockset- there is a stamp on the inside handle backplate that says L-100-6, and a stamp on the lock mechanism itself that says L-100-4.

When I go to install it, I have a problem. The existing opening on the salvage door is cut from about 3.25 inches to 5.75 inches away from the edge of the door skin. The L-100-4 lockset only sticks out about one inch from the edge of the backplate. Pictures attached, hopefully... what am I missing? Help!

Thanks,
Erich

You will need to purchase a long bolt for the L100 lock, Inland RV has them a little pricey. Hopefully someone on the Forums will have one they will let go.

Vintage Trailer Supply also sells the long version. I bought one and shortened it.
