noisy cabinet door springs

Any ideas about the noisy cabinet door springs? I've tried using spray lubricant but they are very noisy when opening and closing the door.

... ummm.... try a better spray lube?

There are a lot of different products out there for lubricating things. If it really *is* the spring (and not the hinge) you may need something like a white lithium grease spray.

What are you using now?

I'm using tri-flow. It clearly is the spring making the noise.

Well, the spring its self should not make any noise at all. The ends of the spring working against the hubs on the arms might make some noise. That's a high pressure junction and why you will need a grease to cure the issue.

Two of seven cabinets have noisy springs. They are the most utilized over the galley area on our 2015 Flying Cloud. I have lubricated with silicone spray and adjusted tighter and looser. No change in problem. I know someone must have a resolution. Make my day and help make Jacqueline ecstatic. Thanks in advance.

I used some gen purpose lithium grease right where the spring wraps around the plastic bearing. The obnoxious noise went away as the grease worked its way around and under the wrap. My wife was much happier.

I suspect you have the real solution. As others have mentioned, the spring itself is very unlikely to make the noise, but it certainly will help transmit and amplify sound from vibrations originating at its ends.
