Have a small child go through one of the compartment doors (if it is unlocked), they will have to push the bed open, but then they can unlock the door. Been there and done that...

Not much help now, but we offer free lock out kits.

Just send us a SASE with 2 stamps on it.

I can tell you how to get into the trailer, but not via any posting.

If you can wait until Monday, call me and I will share the "how to".

Andy

Even I took advantage of Andy's offer once when I left my keys on the rear bumper of my truck before taking the Argosy back to storage. Call him -- we don't post this info on the open forum.

Thanks for the info but the bed board appears to be screwed down. I was unable to budge it;

Try prying open the window next to the door.

We did the same thing with our 08 Safari. I was able to pry open the swing out wing of the Hehr window next to the door, cut the screen, and reach my arm around to open the door. This worked because I didn't have the window over tightened.

Santa's busy & the lock smith was able to pick the lock & turn the tumbler but the door would still not open. I suspect something is not right in the mechanism

Jerry....I can't help you get in your trailer but did want to suggest that you pick up a GE Auto Permanent Key Safe (001312 or 001324) that you can mount on your trailer and safely store an extra set of keys. They have a rubber boot covering the device and you unlock it with a combination you set.

When bad comes to worse, as in your situation, please don't break a window to get in. Take your time and drill the lock out. Start with a small drill bit and work up to bigger bits. The mechanism is broken already. There is nothing to lose. Santa is right here in Florida with me, and he ain't gettin' his fat ass up anytime soon.

We had the same thing happen last summer when the wind slammed the door shut. A locksmith couldn't get the door open so we helped our granddaughter to enter through the rear escape window and she was able to unlock the door. We then obtained the kit from Andy, installed it and all is well. We also keep an extra key in a magnetic box hidden outside the trailer. Good luck

My wife and I were on a trip to Arkansas When we arrived we noticed we were one of two Airstreams in the campground we were staying at. The following evening we saw a lock smith truck by the other Airstream. Long story short. They could not get in, I tried my door key,it worked and everyone was happy. Is there another Airstreamer close by with a trailer thats close to the age of yours? Just a thought! We all get lucky sometime
