factory supplied front window guard

I just bought a new 2014 25 ft with factory front window guards and the gaskets do not seal against the trailer, they do prevent the window from rubbing but do not seal, my queston is should they? they are about 1/4 to 1/2 inch away from trailer.

They can be bent to fit flush, but you must know how, or you will crack the plastic.

Those gaps are common in all the AS's I'm aware of. But there's an easy solution.

Home Depot/Lowes has outdoor foam insulation which protects the freon/coolant line going into your house.

Use it to line the upper gaps between the actual gasket and window.

My new window rock guards don't seal against the body either. I get leaves and bugs between the guard and the glass. But they open up for cleaning when I get a round tuit.

No, they don't seal and have gaps. Sealing them will hold the bugs and stuff which most assuredly will get in much better but will not keep it out. Open them up once or twice a year and clean inside would be my advice. Don't bother to try to seal them up.

Be careful when you loosen the latches! The wind will take them and put a not so nice crease at the back end of them by the hinges. They lift upward off of the hinges to clear the area for complete access if you want to. You have to have the center piece up to access the 2 latch screws, though.
