All - Thanks for the information - I'm familiar with Vintage Trailer Supply and they don't have the proper longer 5" bolt or as it is referred to "backset" for the door handle or deadbolt. They sell a deadbolt that gets mounted on the trailer wall next to the door which is what the longer "bolt" or "backset" is used for on their parts website - It has a round end on it which when locked goes into the door to secure it. I think this type of deadbolt looks ridiculous mounted under the window and next to the door and not on the door.

**When I googled 5" backset or searched 5" backset on ebay, i found several 5" bolts or backsets that will work. **--->I had been searching "longer bolt" which is what many in Airstream world refer to regarding the deadbolt or door handle longer "backset" which is why I had trouble finding one. It is called a "backset"

Kwikset makes both the 5" door handle extended 5" backset as well as the 5" deadbolt backset - I ordered both on Ebay yesterday.

Thx again!

Go to Home Depot get a metal rod cut it to size and have someone weld it to the end of your lock. Thatís what I did.
