Can I use the same gasket for windows, door and compartments?

I see from the forums that the advice is to use the newer D-shaped gasket rather than the old-style rubber fingered strip for the door and windows on my 1970 Overlander.

Just to double check, it's the same size for both the windows and doors? And can I also use the same thing for the compartment doors?
