Broken door lock for 1988 Excella

Our door lock is broken and the handle will not stay secure...we ordered a replacement kit, but it is not the original one and does not fit the opening. Any ideas on how to install the replacement kit or even better, where to get a replacement door handle/lock kit for a 1988 excella?

They dont make that lock anymore you have to use an adaptor plate that rivets to the door. Id gladly buy your old lock off you if your interested.

I have a 1988 Excella. My door lock is not working due to a tiny broken part that will be in one of the images. I need that particular part plus an interior door handle that will fit on that part. Or I need the entire door lock kit...I purchase one that does not cover my current hole for the door lock I have and am not satisfied with the look it will have with metal plate covering that hole.

So my needs are an interior door handle and that tiny part or a full door lock kit that will fit...I realize it is not made any longer so looking for something that has been reclaimed.

We had to concoct a new interior handle for our 1988 Excella after the original broke. Fortunately, we did not have the broken shaft that you also have. We made a new handle and posted the basic instructions on the Forums. If you search for 2dogtraveler and look for a post from August 19, 2009, you'll see what we put there. We have more recent photos which we will try to post soon.
