Argosy Roof Mechanism?

Hi everyone! I'm new here so I will get to a properly introduction soon.
I'm two weeks into my first Airstream project, a 1976 Argosy 24'. I've been able to find so many answers here so I thank you all for having shared your experiences, but I'm finally stuck. I'm in the process of removing the interior skins, and I'm at a standstill with this upper ceiling panel. There is a mysterious crank mechanism on the very front of the roof, just behind the steel end-cap. On the outside (roof) it looks like a marine plug of some sort. The crank on the inside turns, but it doesn't open. I found a small Allen screw inside on the crank, but it was rusted and ate the tip of my Allen wrench. Now I think I have no choice but to remove the entire mechanism from the top by drilling out the rivets. Before I do this, however, I would really like to know what this thing is. Anyone have an idea? Here's a pic.

Got it

Okay, never mind. I think I figured it out. It's just a satellite dish mount.

I have a 78 24' argosy that is gutted. The back and 2 side windows are bad but the curved front windows are perfect. I am thinking of getting rid of it. It has a roof air that the last time I played with ( several years ago) worked fine. Any interest?
