Airstream Angie window reno

Hi all

I have been reading on this forum for a couple years now and eventually dreams do come true. We were able to purchase a 29 foot Land Yacht ambassador airstream recently. I was able to pick it up in Saskatoon Saskatchewan in early March when it was -20 with a 40 km wind blowing. I must say it was a good time to buy an airstream.

We have it sitting out at our lakefront property and I am starting on the slow renovation project. I have installed a Fantastic Fan in it and now am currently working on the windows. I have taken the windows apart and I am able to clean off the old window tint but my question is - when I put them back together again what sealant between the windows should I be using.

In one of my pictures you can see the old fuzzy weatherstripping that was used and I would prefer not to reuse anything like that. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Congradulations on your purchase. Check out vintage trailer supply for new weatherstripping. They ship to Canada and deliver by Fed ex

VTS has some polyshim butyl tape that works well for sealing the inside perimeter between the panes.

When I took my window inserts out of my 72 Landyacht they did not have any kind of gasket between them, cleaned them up and put them back in and have had no problems in three years. I did put stainless screws back in when I reinstalled the insert due to rusty screws.

In the Winter, I get condensation inside of the windows that were not sealed between the panes.
