Accordion Doors

I am looking to simply find the white pin that the accordian door connects to. Tried Out of Doors Mart with no luck. Is this an airstream item or is this something that can be found elsewhere?

Thanks!

Ronman

Would love to know if you find this part. I also tried Out of Doors Mart with no luck. Seems the weight of the accordion door causes that white pin to break when traveling.

Pdozanne,

I am Determined to find a replacement. We do not close the accordians during travel but it would make sense that the pins would not hold up. I am missing one! I'm on a quest! I'll keep you posted as I progress.

On our trailer, if we leave the accordian doors open, I get a little bit of a view of what's behind the trailer.

I won't give it up, which I guess is why I never noticed that the pins break when travelling.

My door the little plastic piece that holds the end, in the track, broke .Looks like it is riveted in . I think it is from the weight of end piece of curtain , anyone have same problem & fix.

@Silverbacksurfer -

That's exactly the problem we have. The weight of the end piece of the curtain broke off the riveted piece that holds it in. We're assuming it was from bumps in the road while traveling. We always keep the door open when traveling.

Anyone know where to get this riveted piece? One AS dealer told us we would have to buy a whole new curtain ... $130 approx. Not the solution we were looking for.

It is obviously a design flaw the small little " T " piece cannot support the weight of end piece of the curtain , especially going down the road . I sure there a lot more victims of this bad design. keep the thread going other members will read about the problem maybe someone will have a solution . A call to factory would be a good idea.

Our AS dealer made it happen. Don’t ask, don’t tell.

While I had our accordion door off for another project, I noticed that the little plastic "nail head" pin on the outside edge of the door was badly deformed and would certainly fail in the future... perhaps the near future.

My "fix" was to make a new part from HMW polyethylene (think white plastic cutting board). A couple of quick measurements and a few minutes on the table saw, and I had a fix-for-eternity. It took longer to drill-pry-coax-cuss the old part from the door than to replace with my new one.

It's not all that hard to just make a new one yourself... see previous post, above.
