1968 Overlander rear compartment door gone!

anyone out there know of a place to buy a rear compartment door? Ours fell off while driving home from los angeles!

colaws, airstreamguy.com, vinstream.com, InlandRV, Airstream Supply in Seattle all have as vintage parts. im going tomorrow to a as salvage place in NC i'll look for a compartment door for ya. i know they have a 68 there. PM me your details .

Most of the older rear compartment doors fall off, usually because of some rear end separation.

I guess thats why provide so many of them.

on mine we added a couple of small chains to the door that clip onto the sides of the frame. Can't lose it now.

I made a decent one out of sheet aluminum and slightly smaller plywood arranged on the inner side. A little metal bending / added the latch and looks good+ and works fine. + I added double chains to keep it with the AS....no pics available.

Could you post a picture? Losing our compartment doors is a big concern for me!

You can use any small chain.

Attach it to the inside of the door near each side, and then attach it to the backside of the door frame (jamb) on the trailer.
