What gauge wire to run to new Horst grey tank sensors?

I put in some of the Horst Grew Water Sensors in my new VTS tanks and was curious what gauge of wire should be run to these from the control panel? I have a lot of 18 gauge wire on hand and was wondering if that is adequate and it would have to run about 15 feet maximum? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
