Water Pump on Newer Airstream

I have a 2007 Safari SE, new to me. I was out over the forth and began having issues with the water pump not priming when the water tank got down to about 1/2 full. I was able to fill the tank and then got it to work again however it seemed weird to me that it would not work unless the tank was full. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you may have a slight leak in the supply line.

When the pump runs, it can easily suck air, even from a hole so small that it will not leak any water.

When the faucet is open, does the water come out with a bunch of air?

I've got the same problem...Any thoughts on where to start looking for a leak? It seems that the supply line to the water tank might be a pain to access. I've got a 2006 Safari

Check the filter housing. They often leak when the pump pulls a vacuum on the suction line.

Thanks so much for the info. I removed the filter and found a crack in the threads. I replaced the whole thing, and it works like a charm.
