Water Leaking at Wheel Well when water is hooked up

I've only been an airstream owner for a few months and have been dry camping until this weekend. We have a 2007 25' Safari FB. This weekend we had full hookup at an RV park and noticed that whenever we use the water it appears to be slowly leaking near the wheel well by the water hookup on the trailer. When the water hose is connected but no water is being used on the inside it does not appear to be dripping water. The last few times we used the trailer with full water tanks but no hookups this did not happen. Is this something to be concerned about? All suggestions are helpful. Thank you!

YES very defiantly.

Not sure I can think of a source of water that would manifest itself only when you are drawing city water. But the issue is you have a leak and a leak will destroy to floor in time.

Rereading your comment it may be a leak in the gray water drain system. That would be time sensitive to using the water. Check any drain in that area while using water.

On our Argosy the condensate water from the A/C drips out just at the front of the wheel well.Is it possible that is what you are seeing? Ours drips out of a grey tube.

I'm going to make a wild ass guess that your built in pressure regulator is defective. If I'm correct, that's a fairly easy fix as the regulator is part of the city water connection to the trailer.

This is the part I am referring to:

Water pressure regulator

If you are using your air conditioner, the drain line for it empties in that area. Maybe the timing is coincidental with water being used. Just another suggestion for you to check on. Good luck in tracing the origin down,

Is there a chance that you have a drain valve that is ever so slightly open? You probably have the tank drain between the wheels, and two line drain valves under the trailer. The latter two are the first place I'd check.

Edit: just read that it's only when water is being used. I don't think my answer is correct for this, but I'd still check.

My "leak" is the condensation from the air conditioner. It's an important drain to keep clean from your AC.

I'll third that it's probably the ac drain, if you've been dry camping until now you probably haven't been using it. Now that it's warmer and you've got hookups you're probably using the ac. Drain typically comes out in that area. Take a look under there and see if it's coming out of a tube coming through the belly pan. If it is you're good to go.

Thank you for all the info. I will check out the AC condensation and hope that's the water that we see...not a real "leak". Thanks for all of your help.

Had the same issue and it was a crack at the water inlet on the inside. You can get at it through the back of the closet to see if it is leaking and check the back flow preventer as well.

Is it near your water heater? I had a leak on my water heater tank that was only noticeable when hooked up to outside water. Apparently the pressure was higher than from my on board water pump.

Yesterday when I was flushing tanks I noticed a leak onto the tire and nothing strikes fear like the possibility of a water leak. We had just been to Jackson Center so I was super bummed that we had a leak to deal with - luckily but unbeknown to me - hubby had it checked out and found it was the condensation from the A/C. Hurrah! Still makes you wonder why they designed it to drip on tire - I'm no expert.

Thanks for all the Ideas - I've had this leek since I've had my AS and it's driven me crazy!
Mine's a '75 - 31', older than yours, but same problem.
Mine's not AC, since I mostly don't go places I have to use it.
Thanks for the Idea's - I going to check them all out again - I'm almost ready to trade AS's to get rid of the problem - not really.

We noticed a tiny leak between our curb side wheels - while using city water, but not the A/C. I think our A/C drain is on the street side, so we're not sure what could be there to leak. No drips from the fresh water lines from the kitchen or the bath, so this seems to be a big mystery, but one I am concerned about...

A low point drain dripping?

I don't think your guess is too wild ass. I betting that is exactly what it is...bad water inlet/regulator. I know because the same thing happened to me recently and replacing it fixed the problem!

Our 2005 Safari started dripping water from the belly pan directly under the city water hose connection , removed the little wooden cover that's behind the rear dinette back cushion to access the space under the bathroom sink which is where the city water connection enters the trailer , after much contortion and gnashing of teeth , the leak was defiantly in the fitting that connects the inside water lines to the nifty little chrome water hose connector . There is a pretty good size diameter plastic nut encircling the water line at this point , so Managed to get a pair of channel locks on the nut "with more extreme difficulty" and tighten this plastic nut . This hail mary fix seems to have fixed the problem that should have never occurred had the fixture been properly installed at the factory . one of many , but this occurred two or three years back and is still leak free . hope this helps :-)
PS . this trailer has no regulator behind the water inlet

Also, check to see if it is the drain for your refrigerator condenser. That is where my 25' FB drains.

I have had this leak in my 25 and it is not the AC drain. It comes out at the bottom end of the fender trim. I just felt today and there is another drain hose running along the wheel trim. There are two drain hoses at the curb front wheel. This is strange. The back AC has the drain at the rear wheel. Help with wheel drain hose.
