Troubleshooting a leak

So I have a leak in my 25 ft 2007 Safari SE. This is a front bed layout that abuts a closet and the bathroom.

The leak shows up in two places. Just beneath the toilet at the wall of the bathroom, and then outside the bathroom a patch of carpet about a foot wide. This nearly adjacent tot he bathroom. I think the water goes from the bathroom under the wall to soak the carpet. This is not a huge leak.

My thinking is that it's somehow connected to the hot water heater. I've been keeping the hot water heater off for the past few days and there is no leak and the wet carpet has dried.

Anyone experienced anything like this.

further observations

I am sure this is connected to the hot water heater. I left it off for a few days and no leak. As soon as I turned it on, the leak shows up at the base of the toilet. It's not hot water it's cold. I think now it has something to do with back pressure getting by the crimped fitting.

I have read something about have space for expansion in the hot water heater. If this was true and that space wasn't there that would build pressure in the line beyond what is normal.

Does this make any sense.
