Small Dishwasher
Has anyone tried out the small portable dishwashers that either can be built in or set on a counter while in use?? Do they work?

Hello A2,
No personal experience here, but the thought of one has crossed my mind on occasion.
You may find some useful information in this well traveled thread.

We had one in our small coffee bar for a while. It does a good job "sterlilizing" the dishes, but you pretty much have to wash them or rinse them really well) before you put them in. Not the most efficient dishwasher out there. And of course, they are small. Don't hold a lot.

In my motorhome I put one in . . . loved it. I had no issues. I miss it. I would love to put one in my Airstream (no space). I say, go for it.

We named him Stephen.

Big dish washer.
Hi, my wife has a big dish washer and it works very well; It's already pre-programmed to automatically do the dishes right after every meal. Some times it even cooks and it does all the tow vehicle driving too.
The only small plastic ones I have seen aren't dish washers, but sterilizers.

Arizona Al, The one I purchased was by Vesta. It was sturdy, SS inside. You can purchase at various RV stores (usually they bring in from warehouse) or West Marine (westmarine.com or 1800BOATING) sku 6816425. I had removed my original cooktop and oven. Replaced with d/w and 2 burner cooktop. Judy

Airstream Judy
Thanks...I will check out the Vesta unit. I am moving to a 25 foot CCD and more toward full time...now about 1/2 time. The newer unit has a lot more room than my current Globetrotter and thought it was worth the look. Arizona Al

I will be looking closely at integrating a dish-drawer (by KitchenAid or FP) into my new kitchenette design. I am hoping to have the range left single bowl sink right and dish-drawer far right (if I have enough room). The dish drawers use very little water. Hopefully by going to a single bowl sink I will recover enough lenngth to fit the 24"wide dish drawer.

Hi, I'm totally new to Airstreams/ caravans etc. I was wondering what issues there might be fitting a residential dishwasher if you were full-timing in an Airstream that was used as a static rather than a tourer? (fitted in a redesigned kitchen obviously)
