Sink Fixture Removal

I'm in the process of clearing out the bathroom fixtures in my '72 Sovereign so I can work on the floor. Everything seems pretty cut and dry except for one snag--removing the sink fixture.

The problem is I can't access the screw-on fitting for the copper pipes that attach to the faucet. I'm a rookie in this regard, dealing with copper pipes. Any insight in removing these would be greatly appreciated.

Most moen faucets installed in AS had tailpieces soldered into faucet, then they were soldered onto the 1/4 trailer line.I can see the soldered coupling in your picture.Easiest way to remove is cut the 1/4" line with tubing cutters, when you reinstall use 3/8" compression unions.Squirt a little WD40 on the union threads and they will tighten up a lot easier. To remove the faucetfrom the top you need a 7/16 deep well or nut driver.
