Unhappy PUR Filter leaking

I have a PUR #210 water filter under the sink. It takes one of those blue cartridges. I went to replace the filter the other day and the case was screwed on so tight, I had to take the filter off the wall and disconnect the hoses so I could get at it with the supplied wrench. Now that it is back together, it leaks like mad probably around the water out to the faucet connection.
It doesn't seem that the hose is tightly connected at the filter, but I can't get it any tighter.

Can someone help me with this problem?

Might be able to offer a suggestion if we could see how the lines are attached to the filter cannister. Pictures?

I've not had my lines off, but I think there is an o ring on the fitting...as well as the cartridge housing. I have had crud get into the o ring area and cause a leak. I'd clean and lubricate all the o rings with 100% food grade plumbers silicone.

I don't have any pics, but I might get over to the trailer and take a couple. Thanks for the reply.

I did notice a small O ring that may have been inside the hose connection lying on the floor. I put it into the connection, but it may not be right. You can't see into that. What a mess!!

That connection just doesn't seem right. Are there supposed to be 2 of those wire clips on the connecton? Mine has one.

Both lines have a single clip which holds the black collar on and retains the line. Both lines turn freely within the top housing, which tells me it is an o-ring seal. No tightening capable. Just remove the clip, collar and inspect/clean/lube the o-ring. Replace if nicked.

Wink Still at it with Leak

Boy is it hot in the trailer! I think I lost 20 pounds in 10 minutes.

I greased everything up, but that didn't help. Well, it may have but it still leaks. So sitting here in my A/C den, I have the hose and the blue part on my table. It looks like the hose may be missing a part. If you look in each end of your hose, I think you'll find a white washer of some sort, like a flat washer except on edge like a piece of pipe. My hose only has one and I bet that has gone somewhere when I disconnected the hose the other day. I searched, but can't find it. If I take the black clips and spring clip off, I bet that will come right out. Then all I have to do is find the place in America or China or wherever they have a bunch of those and get one.

If one of you folks out there is willing to look at both ends of your connection to verify there is a white washer on each end, I'll be very happy and will buy you the beverage of your choice when we meet.

Arrow Leak

I have the little white devil in my hand, well in my pocket. As I thought, when the clips came off it came right out. BUT, it's not just a simple little thing, but has bumps and notches on it. 5/16 id and 7/16 od.

Does anyone know a washer salesman in China?

to be continued....

I'm having trouble referencing the items you are talking about. Are you talking about the filter end of both lines? Which one is missing...the fat supply side...or the filtered small delivery side? It is leaking at the filter, right? Which line?

Looks like it may be part of the hose assembly, if I understand you correctly.

Hose

It's the larger of the two hoses.
Both ends are the same.

Thumbs up Success!

I called Delta, explained my problem, and they are sending me a whole new hose for zip!

I'll let you know how I make out in 7-10 business days.

Thanks a lot for the assistance. I'll buy you that beverage!!

Smile The Final Chapter

As per suggestion here, I called Delta at the number listed on my water purifier manual. Talked to a nice young man who seemed to understand my problem of the missing "washer" and said, "we'll send you a new hose." Well, I'll be. Today I received the new hose and on looking inside I can see all the parts where they belong.

I had previously called a large Airstream parts dealer who said they had the hose, but the price with shipping was about $95.00. I will say when I later informed them that I was getting one from Delta for nothing, that they said that was wonderful. (I think so too).

To all of you who helped out and provided input, thank you very much!! We beat around the problem a little, but solved it in the end and that's what the forums are about.
Keep the shiny side up. Travel safe.
