Plumbing Problems

About 30 minutes after setting up camp today we notice water pouring out of the camper around the water heater. Ran inside and could hear water spraying in the bathroom. Thought I left the valve open, but actually found a broken pipe under the sink above the wheel well. We're camping for a few days near Hattiesburg. No plumbing tools with us. Water is turned off. Attempting to temporarily repair pipe with super glue. No too hopeful, though. Will try turning the water back on in the A. M. DH hates plumbing work and this pipe is so difficult to get to!

Sorry about your plumbing problems. First, I would take pictures of the broken piping and post it here; it will be much easier to help you. Also, when you go to the hardware/plumbing store it will help you there to get the correct tools and parts.

I have an 84 Excella, so I know that it has quest piping (gray polybutylene).

Good luck.

Dan

Superglue won't work.

I would go to Lowes/HD and buy a Sharkbite or similar cap. Then cut the 1/2" pipe upstream of the break and cap the pipe with the Sharkbite cap. This will stop the water leak although you may not have any hot/cold water at the kitchen faucet.

Thanks, Dan. You were absolutely right. Super glue didn't hold. No luck at HD. Hubby is currently in A to Z Mobile Home Parts & Service. Hopefully he's having some luck here. He repaired a similar leak under the kitchen sink when we first got the AS a few years ago. He just came out! No luck yet!

We were able to repair the leak and only lost a day of the fishing trip. Learned a lot making the repair though. Glad we were that we were able to get parts relatively closely.
