25' 2004 safari---when i turn on the cold water in the bathroom all is o.k.--when i open the faucet in the kitchen,water drips out of the shower head---any help would be appreciated----steve

Hi, I don't have an answer for you; But each faucet, in each sink, and shower control have their own valves and are not connected. [therefore should not effect each other] Has this trailer been repaired or modified? And even though it doesn't make sense to me, maybe the water pressure is too high and your shower valve is the weakest link.

I'm not familiar with the arrangement in a 2004 Safari. Does it have a regular tub faucet with a diverter valve and a fixed showerhead, or is it a handheld shower head on a hose with it's own control valve?

Remove the shower head from the hose and see how much water comes out of the hose alone. Does the shower tap work normally?

Does it leak when the tub is on? Try opening the shower head control and running the tub, still dripping? Make sure the diverter valve is pointing to the tub, shut off the shower head turn on the kitchen faucet, still leak?

We did have a problem with a leaking mixture valve line on our 25',too short, leaked behind shower wall.
FWIW, turning off the head to conserve water while showering, can blow the lines off the mixture valve, especially it their to short to begin with. Replaced both lines with stainless reinforced supply lines from HD.

I'm sure we're all trying to figure out the relationship between the kitchen and bathroom!!

thanks---there is no tub--just a hand held shower head---the only thing we had done was a water filter hooked up under the bathroom sink-this is hooked up to the main line---i am wandering if there is a problem with the shower valve not completely closing so when we open the kitchen faucet a little water gets through the shower valve.

No Problem, I don't compute well at all.
Our Classic don't have a tub as such either, and it leaked like hell the first time I used it. This is a great place for info, and you WILL need it.

It does get better with time, after awhile the "maint" gets almost enjoyable.....almost.

If you have a handheld shower, it needs to have a vacuum breaker. The vacuum breaker is to prevent water being siphoned back into the drinking water supply if the showerhead is accidently left in the tub. It's a code thing.

Anyway, I think it is the vacuum braker that is causing the problem. Sometimes its a vacuum breaker attached to the hose going to the showerhead, sometimes its a double check valve, sometimes its a device built into the mixing valve itself.

In any event, when you turn on the water in the kitchen, the line pressure is reduced just enough cause the vacuum breaker/check valves to unseat and let a little water drain from the showerhead.

It's not something that can be fixed without tearing everything apart, checking and de-gunking all the valve seats and O-rings, putting it back together and seeing if its fixed. After that, you may still need to replace the mixing valve.
