Need help! Fresh water leak INTO the toilet.

I am a new owner of my first airstream, a 2008 25' Safari. I went on a weekend trip and found out that after I flushed the toilet kept dripping fresh water into the bowl. I came back to the airstream after about 4-5 hours to find the bowl almost overflowing. I turned off the shut off valve for the rest of the trip and used a couple of glasses of water to flush the bowl out from then on. Does anyone know what needs to be repaired? Is it something a VERY INEXPERIENCED female can handle??

Could be either the water valve itself or the linkage for it. Accessibility is poor so you're probably best off removing the toilet from the trailer, repairing it, testing it, and reinstalling it. You might instead decide that it's a good time to upgrade to a new toilet.
