Can anyone point me to a picture, or give me a good description of the proper water hookup location on an early 70's Ambassador? The plumbing on this poor thing is an absolute mess and I'm going to rip out all the old repairs and rebuild from scratch. I'd like to put it back in the expected location with a proper on/off valve.
The current location is just some old grey poly poked through the aluminum near the water heater with an adapter hose-clamped on for connections. Not my work... I swear!
My '72 Globetrotter has a water hose connection point at the rear, left bumper. The water tank filler is through a fill door, also located on the left side near the axle, which is also the tank location. Your tank may be in a different spot, but the garden hose connection should be at the bumper, left side.

My 74 Ambassador has the water hose for town water at the roadside rear just in front (unbelievabley) of the stinky snake hookup.gotta love that thinking. The port for the water tank is on the curbside, just behind the door.

OK Sarge, I gotta ask...Why'd you set that ol' stinky cap on your cap??

I have that connector as well but, the pipe tucks in under the belly pan and is disconnected. That combined with the jerry-rigged hookup that I've got now, I figured that must be a system drain since it was by the waste drain. Thanks for the pic.
