Low Point Leak

Our 2015 Flying Cloud sprung a pretty serious leak this week and wondering if its repairable without going to the dealer. It started as just a minor drip last week and then this week turned into a pretty serious spray. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See my video of the leak below:

It looks as though the ball valve NPT(F) section cracked. if so, this is an off the shelf item at many hardware stores and is readily replaceable by anyone handy with a wrench. If it were me I would change the valve and move on.

Low Point Leak

You will have to unscrew the nut that holds the valve handle on and take the handle off to make it easier to unscrew the valve. Looks like it was either over tightened of freeze damage. Take it apart and also inspect the fitting the valve screws onto for cracks or damage.

Use two wrenches to take it apart. One to steady the fitting the other to unscrew the valve. Use white Teflon tape as thread sealant to put it back together.

Turn off the pump and disconnect city water before you try to get it apart.

Itís a standard valve from any big box or hardware store.

Gentlemen,

I’m amazed by this community yet again. You saved me $100s of dollars and a few days waiting for the dealer to fit me in. Found a $7.50 part at Home Depot and I’m good to go. I will say that removing the bad valve was pretty difficult as the little arm stopped it from fully rotating as it sits out too far. It had to be removed and even then the valve slightly scratched up the bottom of the airstream. But it’s working! Thank you!
