Leaking valve

I have a valve in the back that is hooked to nothing that I can see. It comes off a T with a handleless shut off, it looks like I will need a one inch screw driver to back it off, with a flare cap on the end. the leak is past the threads, will pipe dope fix this problem? What is this valve for?

Is this for the grey water or black water tanks?
Are they big valves?
I guess what I want to know is what type of plumbing is it hooked to? Freshwater or dirty water?

leaky valve

My wife always says that do not tell the whole story, so here goes. The valve is on the city fresh water inlet piping, 1/2" copper, it goes, city - preasure regulator - check valve and this valve that is leaking. and then a T for the rest of the cold water piping.

Sounds like a winterizing valve. If you open it while under city water pressure, does water gush out on the ground under the trailer? If so, that is what you have. It can be easily replaced with a few commonly available plumbing tools.

I have two drain valves with handles on them, there is no handle on this one, just a countersunk screw down center part with a indent in the center with screwdriver slots on either side of the indent, I can not get my head in to see what is in the indent. I have not used city water for a hookup. I think it is some place you can hook to another line to without shuting down the water supply.

I have the same model and just completed re-plumbing last week. Sounds like the check valve, on mine it has '60' stamped on the top. Do you have a digital camera?

Got to take picture of this thing. Our unit is out in the timber used as our hideaway when we want to get out of town and toilet for the farm. The leak did not show up until I changed water pumps, maybe it is a relief valve that one of the PO's capped off because it leaked, I am going to put a preasure gauge on the line and see what I have. The check valve is the 1/2" inline type

We took some pictures today, will put them on line as soon as we can. I took off the flare cap and put on a piece of garden hose off the fitting so at least the plywood will dry up, as soon as I took the cap off the fitting the water stopped coming out of the top and came out of the hose.

How far did you go on your replumb job? The city water comes in on a tear drop L to another L then preasure regulator with adjusting screw on top, L, screw in 1/2" check valve, L, 8" pope, L, L, T with this valve on it, more copper pipe, T to rest of the system. I am thinking that might it be a redo from past PO's

I replumbed the entire coach. The manifold you are referrencing, I rebuilt in PVC. I still have the copper manifold intact with exception to check valve and pressure regulator. I'll see if I can snap a shot tomorrow night and post for ya.
