Grey Water Tank

We are looking into installing a grey water tank in our '73 Safari. We are in Northern Calif. and have been quoted a price of $2200. Any advice, suggestions, help, will be greatly appreciated.

Contact Vinnie @ Vinnie's Northbay Airstream for a quote. He's honest and well respected in the Airstream community. Whatever figure he gives you for the work will be the right one.

Not sure which (or any) of these #'s is still good but I'm sure you can Google and find him.

I went to RV Doctor George - Home in Sacramento and picked up a 50 Gal tank that I'm installing under the AS ahead of the axles.

Check them out and they may be able to help with the installation.

Boy talk about in your back yard . I had to travel 160 miles to get there.

Find out how they're going to do it. I did my own, and dropped the belly pan, which means pulling off the axles, disconnecting the electric brakes, and then a small bit of rewiring as the wires needed to go around the tank, not over or under (or through) it. I think some shops might just cut the belly pan, and who knows how they might plumb it.

For that price, they should be doing the full monty belly pan like I listed above. Are you going to get a separate valve for the gray, or are they going to try to give you a single hookup? (single makes things easier, but not completely necessary).

I also put in tank washers when I had the tanks available. It's a cheap part and easy to do when doing the tanks initially - just make sure you winterize that if needed.

Rob.

I have a 73 with rear bath and had a 35 gallon gray tank added just behind the rear axles and it's still set up for single dump at the drivers side rear. I think it was around 1100-1400 installed (I had it done along with a lot of other work).
