Flying cloud 20 water issue
Just traveled our first time in our recent acquired 2009 bambi FC. Traveled to asseteague NP. All systems worked well except the fresh water fill. When filling I had water flowing up under the double sink. Inspection showed the water line from a gray bracket (kinda filter looking) assembly broke free.
Should there be a filter on the bottom of the gray assembly.
Is a replace readily available Pictures attached
Why did fresh water come out when I was just filling the fresh water tank for the first time.
Had a great weekend saw 35 bald eagles at Milburn SP in MD
Any comments would be great. Heading south next Monday. Fresh water would be key

We had a FC 20. I believe that is the top of the water filter holder, with a water line disconnected. Perhaps to winterize.
You need to get the proper filter cartridge (check owner's manual) if it's missing and hook the water line back up. Then as any time you do anything with the plumbing, check it for leaks under pressure.
Also, if it has been winterized they are low point drains under the trailer that may be open, and the water heater (under the front bench seat) is probably bypassed and may have the drain plug removed. Again, check the owner's manual for de-winterizing procedures.
Don't do this until you get to a warmer climate.

I have looked through the manuals that I have and I can not find a filter p/n
As a first tome de winterizer what do the two water inlets do?
Will the hot water tank be filled when filling fresh water.

Do you have a separate spigot on the kitchen counter for drinking water?
Our trailer has a separate spigot to the right of the kitchen sink faucet for filtered drinking water.
I removed the filter the first time I winterized and never put it back as I always have bottled water on hand.
I left the filter lying in the cabinet below the sink, though.
I don't know if the trailers with a single kitchen faucet have filtered water or not.

Call Airstream Customer Service or a (good) dealer for the part number. This 20' FC filter is different from others I have seen, and it's not cheap (maybe $40) so remove it when winterizing in the future so you don't get rv antifreeze in it.
Water inlets? Are you asking about the two inlets on the outside shell? One would be your city water inlet and the other the black water tank flush. Careful here, if you hook up to the tank flush and the sewer drain is closed, it will fill the tank and overflow the toilet. Never do this, but it's been done. You cannot hook up to city water (or your onboard water) until you get that water filter installed; it will run out the filter mount.
Yes the hot water tank will fill if the bypass valves next to it (under the forward dinette seat, lift the cushions) are in the fill position. Or the tank may be bypassed. The owner's manual has a good description of these valves.
Take some time and read the various system descriptions in the owners manual. It will help a lot.

Is that thing to the right of the faucet a soap dispenser?
What in the world is it?
Is the separate thing to the right the sprayer?
Does the water work?
I still think it may be for a filter cartridge of some sort, although that kitchen sink setup is way different from a Classic-
Our sprayer comes out the end of the faucet.

You are right that the gray assembly underneath is for a filter
The low chrome knob on the faucet assembly is still a mystery. It is like a handle valve. I am going to call AS since I have not hand water tank filled or pressurized

As I recall that valve to the right of the faucet will allow the separate filtered water to flow from the faucet. But I am sure you must have the filter installed before applying water pressure to the system.
Present late model 20' owners?

That makes sense. If you choose to not put the filter back everything will be OK. I never put my drinking water filter back after the first time I winterized. It is still lying in the cabinet under the sink- so if I ever do decide to use it-
I don't use the soap dispensers either- I have a blue stain on my mouse fur to testify why- but that's another thread-

Wait. If the filter is not there I recall the filter holder is an opening in the plumbing, flooding the cabinet.
Our 25' is different than our previous 20'; it has an inline filter and comes with a winterization line to replace it when removed.

On my trailer there is a valve-
At any rate- in my Classic- it is possible to disable the drinking water tap and still use the kitchen faucet and sprayer-
I guess having 2 separate spigots is handy for that.
Seems like you could still get around the drinking water filter- just NEVER EVER NEVER turn that valve to the right!

In my trailer the shut off valve for the drinking water spigot is in the cabinet under the sink BEFORE the filter- just leave the shut off off...

Broken off?
I wonder if it froze one winter.
Sometimes people don't think to remove the filter when they winterize.
