Finding water leaks

An easy way to find water leaks is with an air compressor. A air pressure regulator must be used. The regulator should be set at about 30 psi. The method I have used is to remove water heater drain plug. When water is drained, connect air hose to tank. The regulator is connected at the air compressor . A small ball valve and air pressure guage are connected at the water heater for convenience. When air is applied to tank, the water remaining in system will be exhausted as each valve is opened. Any connection with any leak can be detected. Loud radio noise is not helpful. All water systems can be checked. The gas system can also be checked with the same method.
