Unhappy Finally Going to Winterize....

They are predicting a low of 21 for Friday night, Saturday morning here in northern Florida. Looks like I'll have to blow the water lines out with air, drain the water heater and pour some antifreeze in the drains and toilet. Cheaper than burning propane all night, I suppose.

WOW, who would think you would need to winterize! If it's only going to cold for a few nights I would think a good electric heater would be the way to go. Right now I have half a side of beef hanging in our AS!

We are set up in Lucy's private campground in Daddy's yard in Jacksonville. We paln to be here until Monday (2/19). We staying in Lucy, so, of course, will will keep the heat on. I don't know if the cost of running the furnace for a couple of nights isn't better than the hastle of draining the tanks and water heater, blowing out water lines, and adding anti-freeze. Then there is the additional hastle of bringing the water system back on line when the cold weather passes.

It is worth keeping the heat on.. minimal cost for a couple of nights... we are in Arcadia .. previously in Tampa.. have the 5th wheel with us.. only have used 2 tanks in 2 months..

Marvin! You should be getting that Argosy ready for the rally, not sunbathing in Florida!

Freeze Out

I know...This is going to be a cold one for us.What I do Is run the heater on and open all the cabinet doors.I also open any hatches that will open up to the piping inside the trailer. Then I put the heater on around 75 to 80 degrees so it is really warm inside. So far I have not had one problem yet.Works really well for me.

It was 14 here this AM with a wind chill of -4. I have an electric heater in my Argosy so I can go out and sit in him, but he's been winterized since December. I can't wait for Spring in Oklahoma. All I have to worry about is hail and tornados then. OH BOY

Temps

It is 46 here but for us Florida folks it is COLD.

We had one come near our house here but we left to go to a more secure place. They were tracking it and it showed it heading towards our area.Waterspouts are not fun either.A friend of mine lived on the next street over and when I was having this house built a tornado destroyed his and hit the second story house not even a block away from my place.Pretty scary stuff.
