Just got our '86 Sovereign
25' and it is up at Jackson Center getting serviced. I had a concern with the black and grey tank valve that I reported to the technician. It is very hard pulling on the valve to let the water drain from the black and grey tanks and I was worried I would bust it.
The estimate to fix it is with a "all plastic slide-EZvalve repair kit". The cost for the kit is $51.34. That would be okay but the problem is the AS service center estimates that it would take 5 hours to "rebuild both great and black tank valves" at $100+ an hour. Has anyone ever fixed this problem. What needs to be done and how hard is it to do? Any advice would be helpful before we advise the factory on whether to move on this. Thanks.
