'77 31' rear bedroom center bathroom sink stays on, shower wont turn off....help

This is my very first Airstream, 1977 31' Sovereign INTL. I got it home and started( after hours and hours of research ) in great places like these, trying to figure a few things out. Before the cold spell I got the city water hooked up kitchen is all original and freezer freezed and the fridge fridges. oven has never been used, light use on stove top, Kitchen sink looks showroom new with covers. NOw we go a foot back, yes I got the center bath that I had really been dreaming of (more privacy in the rear bedroom. when city water was applied the bathroom sink faucet stayed on more than a trickle and after turning and pulling and prodding the shower never would come on. I also have some questions about the dimples on the dual pane glass and any clever things anyone has done to diminish them. I also broke the key off in the lock so I have a drilled out lock on my front door, where do I get a replacement near Texarkana TX?

Thanks

You probably need new cartridges for the shower and bathroom faucet.
You can mail order new lock cylinders with keys from most airstream dealers.
Welcome to the forums.

Remove and replace the tinting film. Cartridges that old are hard to get out. Blocked one may just be an aerator blockage. Lock sets this old are expensive to replace. Some people just add a deadbolt and forget the original.

Don't forget the shower wand itself may have a shut-off.

It is there to facilitate "navy" showers.

Welcome to the forums!

We got the replacement cartridges for the faucets in our '75 at Lowes. One of them was pretty hard to get out. Took some patience, big pliers, and lots of penetrating oil.

Check with Andy at Inland RV Center - The Nations Leading Expert in Airstream Innovations

and

Out-of-Doors Mart

for the door lock. Be prepared if available it is not cheap. To bad you had to drill the key out.

I don't think either Inland RV or Out of Doors mart has the complete lock, but here is a link from Out of Doors mart that may help in obtaining parts to repair it.

Airstream Lock 1970-77
Couple of other points on the AS lock for the 70's trailer. These are like the Holy Grail. Hard if not impossible to find a complete working one. Even the broken ones are scarce. So don't just take it off and throw it away. Repair it or have someone repair it if at at all possible. I have a 1976 31" Sovereign center bath and have also had problems with the lock but was able to repair it. Good luck with your new adventure.

Airstream Lock 1970-77
Don.

The 1970 t0 1977 model Airstreams used an entrance door lock called "KT".

It is still available along with many of the individual parts.

Not cheap by any means, but, still available.

The new KT lock costs almost $ 500.00.

Hold on to the old one, repair it and keep as a spare. When these were available, even used they could go for $400 plus. Plan ahead you may not always be fortunate to have someone offer a replacement for free.
