'76 International plumbing roof vents

The PO of my trailer really must have thought his excrement had no odoure, he taped all the roof vents shut. They have no "caps" like the other roof vents I've seen on SOB's, are they supposed too? I'm leaving the tape on until I find out, don't want rain water getting in around the plumbing. (House vents are open on top, rain just runs into the sewer.)
By the way they are the rectangular vents, I can't seem to find a picture of one, or a supplier.

Would these be OK replacements, probably easier than trying to find caps.

Taping off the vents defeats their purpose. It could also cause the collapse of the holding tank when you empty the tank. The only thing preventing the collapse is the vacuum caused by opening the dump valve is the water is sucked out of the P traps in the sinks and shower. Allowing air into the holding tank(s).
Rain water entering the vent stack doesn't hurt anything. When you consider the inside diameter of the vent stack as compared to the capacity of the holding tanks. It only hurts if it gets under the flange and leaks into the trailer.
Caps on the vents may prevent critters from building nests in the vent stack.

Thanks TG,
Yeah, being a retired builder, I know what vents are for, just didn't want to open a can of worms before I had replacements in hand if I needed them.
This is my maiden voyage for a 2 day shakedown cruise. Can't believe how much the late Wife did to get everything along on the SOB. I'll get by for two days, but it is going to be a long "Remember Next Trip" list.
