'74 Sovereign black tank valve

I think I may have a valve problem. It only partially opens to drain, even with plain water. It no longer chugs, just trickles. Can anyone tell me how I go about fixing this issue?

Is it a center, or rear bath model? Rear bath models are easier to replace the valve.

I can only speak from center bath experience. I don't know if the handles work differently on a rear bath or not. Have never seen one... I replaced both of my valves on mine, because they both leaked. If the rear bath is like the center on valve operation, if the handle comes all the way out, the valve has to be all the way open. I would suspect something clogging up the drain pipe more than I would valve not opening, unless the handle doesn't come out all the way any more...

If you want to replace them, they are replaceable. I had the belly pan off of mine when I did it. Others on here will know more about rear bath...

-Red, not being much help...

Believe it or not, I had a toilet paper clog. Grey water tank wouldn't drain.

FYI - I've got a center bath. Both grey and black tanks are connected to one outlet.

Here's what I did: Close the black water valve and back-flush the grey water line. It'll be messy. But that's what you'll hafta do.

Good luck.
