'70 Globetrotter Fresh and Black tank Capacities

Hi, Az Al here. I am trying to find the tank capacities for a 70 21 foot Globetrotter both fresh and black. Help!

Well according the the brochure for the 1970 models, all have a 50gal fresh water capacity (WOW!!!). No mention of the size of the black tank though, except that is has "approximately one week capacity". I am a big fan of the '69 & '70 Caravels, GlobeTrotters & Safaris('70) - very cool layout. Be sure to post plenty of pics!!!

toddster, does not sound right based on what mine seems to hold. I think it is about 25 gallons or so. Having a devil of a time finding this data. As for pictures see my classified post. I am trying to sell my 70 Globetrotter. Thanks AZ AL

According to -> This <- Toddster is right. To confirm what you have you could measure the tank... 1 gallon = 231 cu inches.

I know, it sounds amazing, my '67 has a 30gal capacity which seems more reasonable, but I have now found reference to the 50gal capacity in two places in the brochure. Chances are that they downsized after printing the brochure. I have an idea, drain your tank, time how long it takes to fill a 3 gallon bucket with your hose (to get a gal/min flow rate of your outside plumbing), then time how long it takes to refill the fresh water tank. I'll bet that this will get you a fairly close approximation.

byamcaravanner and toddster, It is hard to argue with the real brochure on the Globetrotter (thanks byamcaravanner). Just does not seem that large. Guess I will to run a flow test. Anybody know the size of the black water tank? Thanks AZ AL

If you can wait till he's back from his holiday break, I'm sure Andy at Inland RV can tell you. Otherwise maybe try some google searches???? I tried it and 30/12 seemed to be a prevalent answer for 1970 Caravels & GTs.

I have a 71 GT and the fresh water tank is out and sitting in the basement, it holds 34 Gallons. The black water tank was shot and now resides in a landfill. I think it held around 15 gals but not sure.
