1978 31' Fresh Water Tank

Anyone have a line on a fresh water tank for my 78 airstream 31' center bath? Found out mine leaks real good.

Thanks, I think I have sent an email to them. How much did it set you back?

The OODM tank comes one probe short of what was original on the '78. Original used 5 probes, tank comes with 4, so you have to pick one to not use. Full probe probably best one to skip , you'll know it's full when you fill it.
Didn't realize this when I bought mine. That was their recommended solution. Instead of them having them made with the right number of probes.
Also drain plug on bottom changes size so you'll have to find one of those . Fill hole was 1-1/4". Vent and suction are 1/2" fpt.

I see that on the photo, what about the the 11 inch height on the one side, did you run into problems with that? My tank id flat, looks like that one is tapered.

Have you pulled your old one out yet, my original was also tapered about an inch from end to end. The pan holding it up was also similarly tapered.

Have you dropped the pan yet? If you had a leak it'll probably be very rusty inside. Wire brush/sand the loose rust and goat the tank pan with some spray galvanizing, rustoleum has in spray cans at most lowes and HD's. Also a few small holes down the center to drain any future water. Spray the holes after drilling.

Thinking back I'm pretty sure I reduced the bottom insulation to 1/2". The bottom of the tank bulged a little, so instead of squeezing it up I just took 1/2" out. It would have fit but I didn't want it squeezing against the 2 longitudinal frame pieces that support the floor. The squeeze would have just been taking the bulge out but didn't want the pressure possibly cracking the plastic tank. I think that's what happened originally.

The pan looks good, and i'm going to measure the area today to see how much room I have to work with.

Thanks
